The Lake Region Economic Bloc fraternity, in collaboration with National Government Agencies, the Private Sector and Development Partners have decided to hold the LREB’s inaugural conference entitled Trade, Investment and Blue Economy Conference on 21st to 24th October, 2018 in Bomet County under the theme, “Optimizing Shared Resources for Prosperity.” The three-day conference will be a platform to showcase the region’s investment opportunities and bring leading international, regional and national investors to engage in lively discussions with the leadership of LREB and Development Partners on increased investments to the region.
On behalf of the LREB Summit, and indeed the 14 Million people from the Lake Region Economic Bloc, it is my great pleasure to invite all our stakeholders to prepare for and actively participate in the Bomet Conference which has so far attracted a lot of interest. Members of the Press are invited to cover the event. Also, I invite all Kenyans that are keen on getting updated on our progress in this Bloc.

Bomet County welcomes potential investors to explore opportunities that exist in various sectors. In the agriculture sector, Tourism – beautiful sites, sceneries and recreational facilities for instance, tea estates, chepalungu forest, Bosto ecotourism site, nature trails and tented camps. Mau forest is home to different tree species, wildlife and birds. There are also caves and waterfalls along Itare and Chepkulo Rivers. The potential of key infrastructures such as Kapkwen airstrip cannot be underestimated.
We expect investors together with the LREB’s leaders to discuss and exchange ideas that will lead to increased investments in the region. It is my hope that the conference will bring together the socio-economic aspirations of the 14 counties and seeks to boldly secure and shape the region’s destiny. It is my pleasure to invite the local, regional and foreign investors, delegates and exhibitors to this investment conference in Bomet County from 21st – 24th October 2018 at IAAF stadium as the main venue and Bomet Green Stadium and CDG as overflow 1 and 2 respectively.

The Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) consists of 14 Counties (Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Homabay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nandi, Nyamira, Siaya, Trans Nzoia and Vihiga) within Lake Victoria Basin.
The objective of LREB is to leverage economies of scale and shared resources in order to grow the economy of the region and improve livelihoods of the people. The 3 day conference shall be held in Bomet County from 21st – 24th October 2018. #TwendeBomet
